COMPANY PROFILE

Studio UMI INC. is a documentary television and video production company based in Tokyo, JAPAN. The company was founded in 1997 with personnel that shares decades of experiences in the fields of history, tribes, voyages, boats, fishery, environment and landscapes.

Studio UMI INC. aims to achieve genuine documentaries with selected staff members in the fields of maritime culture and other nature/environmental related subjects. We primarily develop and produce our own projects both as an independent producer and in association with other Japanese major TV stations.

Foundation Members include not only professionals in the TV/Video industry but they also include other professionals such as art designers and academic researchers, many of whom are some of the most recognized names in their respective fields. We have worked on locations throughout the world.
